Our New Home
Our new home, a 1994 34 foot Holiday Rambler Endeavor LE

Here we are on our first trip at a campground near Eustis, Florida (north of Orlando). Everything is working great. A much better experience than with the TravelMaster where the first two months were spent getting things fixed. Also the transition from one motorhome to another was much easier than from the boat.
After a few months in the TravelMaster we decided that we really needed more space. Specifically, a four foot hanging closet. Living on land takes more different kinds of clothing than living in a boat and there was a shortage of places to conveniently store the extra stuff.
The coach is on a Ford 460 chassis with a E4OD transmission. It also has a GearVender under/over drive to double the gears for hill climbing. It has a Flowmaster tuned exhaust to increase the horsepower. The coach weighs 17,000 pounds loaded with an additional 2,500 pounds with the towed car. This is a lot to drag over the mountains.

The Captain is tucked away in a very comfortable corner to play with the computer. Our major complaint with the boat was lack of space for each of us to do our projects. On the boat, when one was into a project the other had to get a book and get out of the way. Here we have lots of room, although the Admiral still makes me clean up my stuff in case we may have company. |
Pat loves to cook and finds the new galley a pleasure. There is actually room enough for more than one person at a time in the kitchen. We had some concerns about giving up the storage under a traditional dinette, but this arrangement is very comfortable and so far we seem to have plenty of storage space. The table has an extension leaf and two extra folding chairs.

This is the first leather furniture we have had and find it very nice. The living room couch is very comfortable and a drawer pulls out underneath with lots of storage. The front seats turn around and become living room chairs. It works very well for parties up to six, but is a little tight for eight people. We have served dinner for six and this worked well. The bed in back lifts up with full storage underneath. This is a scary place as all kinds of things get stuffed in here and forgotten about. There are also shirt closets on each side of the bed. Remember that the reason that we wanted a new coach was for a four foot hanging closet. This is behind the glass doors pictured next to the refrigerator. Inside the bath room is a shower with a sky light. The first time I was in there I looked up to see a hot air balloon passing overhead.

Perhaps the best part of the new motorhome is that about every two hours Pat gives me a big hug and says thanks for our new home.
