Our First Motorhome

Our first motorhome, a 1989 27 foot TravelMaster at the dealers lot in January 1999. Instead of going to the Bahamas this year we spent 2 months traveling around central Florida working out all the problems setting up our new home. We joined B's RV Resort, a Coast to Coast park, in Mineola, FL (close to Orlando) and use that as a staging area for seeing the sites. Unfortunately, it seems that we spent most of our time at WalMart and K-Mart outfitting our new home.
We traded in our old 1984 Old's Delta88 (270,000 miles) for a 1997 Saturn sedan that is small enough to tow with the RV. Fortunately, our son-in-law sells Saturns so he took good care of us.

We adjusted very quickly to the plusher accommodations in the RV vrs the boat. We have real chairs, a refrigerator with ice cubes, a generator for remote camping, air conditioning and many other features. Also, it is not necessary to stand watches all night or wonder if the anchor is dragging.
We have found the full time RV'ers to be just as nice and as much fun to be with as the boaters and have already made several new friends. Most of the campgrounds have many organized activities that are great to be part of, or not, as the mood strikes. Our RV dealer sponsors a camping group and we have already had a great time at two rallys.
Our travel plans including taking the grandchildren to their favorite places and an extended trip out west. We always run out of time before we make it to the Mississippi River.
